For the last four years, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing a piece of history that has set a standard for many families around the world. We’ve watched the First Lady embrace her new role and evolve into a confident and impactful spokesperson. As a new term looms for the Obamas, let’s recap some of the First Lady’s best looks.
It all started as she walked down Pennsylvania Avenue following the President’s inauguration in an Isabel Toledo ensemble: a creamy dress and overcoat accessorized with a crystal necklace and green leather gloves and shoes.
She exuded a casual elegance in Michael Kors for her official portrait (right) in the Blue Room of the White House.
The First Lady was radiant in an embroidered champagne-coloured Naeem Khan gown as she waited to greet India’s Prime Minister and his wife at a State Dinner in Washington. She completed the look with Indian bangle bracelets.
Simple, sexy and stunning in a deep coral, fitted dress by Prabal Gurung (below) at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in 2010. She dressed it up with drop earrings and cuffs by Bochic and Sutra Jewels.
