Swizz Beatz is in a bit of trouble with the FBI. The feds shutdown file sharing website, Megaupload.com, and have also arrested employees of the site “for moving mass quantities of illegal music and movie files online.”

“We have never received any word that any artist has [individually] filed a take-down . . . [we have] legally binding agreements with the performers that appear in the video . . . They promised that they had the rights to enter into that agreement and it’s not interfering with any third-party rights,” a Rep for Mega Upload said.

Beatz is listed as the website’s CEO and has even gotten a few of his hip-hop friends, like P. Diddy, Will.i.am and Kanye West, to help promote the file sharing website. Together with the producer, the rappers starred in a YouTube video just last month dubbed “Mega Song” to promote the service. Universal Music Group since issued the company a “take-down notice”, citing that the performances in the video were not authorized by the record company.
